BARRA FISHERMAN FLY TO BUNDABERG FOR AIRPORTS PICK UP COURTESY BUS TO GIN GIN

Hervey Bay is a 3 and a half hour drive north of Brisbane along the Bruce Highway. There is plenty of top class accommodation in Hervey Bay to stay at before or after your trip.

The airport in Hervey Bay accommodates light aircraft and it is a simple matter of flying into Brisbane's international or domestic airport and catching a 30-minute connecting flight to the Hervey Bay airport. Hervey Bay's airport is conveniently located only 2 kilometres from the boat harbour, which makes transport arrangements very easy.

The Breaksea Spit is a long expanse of sand and reef, extending north to be within 2 kilometres of the edge of the continental shelf at its northern end. There are areas where 2 metre deep sand banks drop into 2000 metres of water. The drop offs and currents around the top of the spit need to be seen to be believed. GT fishing and Jigging is done around the top of the Breaksea Spit.
